Story of Poli Hotel!
For some known reasons the founder of this thriving enterprise was called Poli (Pervert) and when he started his passionate business of cooking, people started calling it as Pervert Eatery.
This was 50 years ago and today it is run by his Son Nagaraj and grandson Nagendra.
It is one of the most sought after dosa places if you are travelling towards Malavalli. They serve the best Dosas with fresh buffalo Butter and it tastes better than the best!
The context here is not to praise the best Dosas he makes but how this person didn’t get lured into the Migration Trap.
He believed in himself, started small, and today his 2nd generation is continuing this enterprise.
They serve about 500 people a day at very nominal cost and still they make about 60-80 Lacs gross in a year.
This amount is almost equivalent to 200-300 Lacs in a large Metro like Bangalore. I have many friends who earn anywhere between 20-60 Lacs per year, they don’t love what they do and they are unhealthy because of the stressful environment they are in. They keep cribbing about how they are stuck, wanting to do something, but how the EMI liabilities stops them.
If you are at 40 and if you look at today’s life expectancy, you mostly have another 8000-9000 days to live. Follow your passion, don’t worry about what others might say....just do what you love and it will do wonders in your life and the chances of adding another 9000 days is most likely to happen.
